The 29th Day of February.

Every 4 years there is an extra day added to our calendar. February 29th.

It's been said, that if we didn't add this day to our normal year in order to keep up with the astronomical & season calendar, then there would basically be winter in July! How crazy is that?

If your birthday falls on this day, than you can choose whether to celebrate your day on either 2/28 or 3/1 during the normal calendar year.

I remember watching this movie about Leap Year.

The movie was adorable and had a fun meaning to that one extra day every 4 years. Have you seen it?

Walk Into Spring

The joys of changing your wardrobe for the seasons. Spring is my favorite season because it's still cool, but I can toss my Winter boots and wear cute shoes that show off my pedicure!

Since this is the year of patterns, while researching Spring shoes I noticed that there is a large amount of shoes with patterns ready for wear. All kinds. From leopard to stripes to flowers. The great thing about shoes with pattens is that you can wear solid shirts & pants, but brighten and excite your outfit with just the shoes you put on.

It seems like most every store is having sales on their Spring shoes, so now is the time to stock up for the season!

I've already spotted a couple of Keds (Oh, yes, they are coming back. I haven't seen this style since the 'Saved by the Bell' days.), and wedges that I want to add to my collection.

The styles are so different and so much fun.

The leopard Keds will be my first purchase of Spring.

I can picture them now with a pair of tan pants and a light weight black shirt.

Year of Patterns

Every year there is a fashion that sticks around for the whole year, and if we're lucky, in some cases they stick around longer.

In 2011, it was the 'Year of Color'.

Until today (yes, almost 3 months into the new year), I didn't know that it was the 'Year of Patterns'.
I can tell you that I'm uber excited about this, though.
I wear patterns like they are never going out of style.
And bright ones.
Win, win for me!
I tend to always fall for the notebooks with bright patterns too.
This is one fashion that I hope never goes out of style.

Bling is definitely in right now.

I haven't been much of a 'glitter girl' until seeing these luxeffects.

The New Fad?

I'm going to keep this short & sweet because it's been a long week. Yes, it's only Monday, but my exhaustion level is at a ten. #GrownUpLife

We all know that Facebook & Twitter are the most talked about social networks on the planet, but is there another internet craze on the way?

Instagram.

Have you heard of it?

Some facts about Instagram; It's an iPhone or Droid App only (Sorry Blackberry users), it's used to glam up your pictures, AND it's FREE!.

You can 'follow' people, make comments, and 'like' pictures that they post.

Celebrities are even using Instagram as another tool to keep in contact with their fans. Some of the celebs include; Kim Kardashian, Channing Tatum, JoJo, and the list goes on.

Saturday Shopping.

Today I took a little time for myself to shop!

I rarely do that because I feel guilty.

I have a full closet,  jewelry that could cover a small child from head to toe, and more shoes than I know what to do with.

I needed to update my wardrobe, though, and found awesome "President's Day Sales"!

Macy's had an additional 25% off of clearance items, and 25% off of regularly priced items.

I took a few pictures of some of the jewelry I bought.

I love a good deal!

I also purchased a few tops, and some amazing skinny slacks.

It's amazing how wonderful shopping can make a girl feel.

Cold Feet?

Growing up in Florida, I never had to worry about what shoes to wear, unless it rained.

Even if it was raining I would still run out in flip flops or heels.

In Colorado, it's a very different story.

SNOW!

If it snows, I have to wear certain shoes. 

I can't walk in heels [learned that the hard way] when it is snowing.

I had to restock my closet with the appropriate shoes.

My Uggs, those poor, poor things... they do not like the snow!

They went from tan to black, instantly.

I had to buy the Uggs suede cleaner and go to work on those little guys!

I now wear my chocolate brown Uggs if I need to go outside while it's snowing, less stress for the shoe, and me!

I have been browsing through, trying to find cute boots for this weather.

Here's what I found:

1. Burberry - Moon boot.
2. Chanel - Rubber sole, so you don't slip!
3. Jimmy Choo - Way out of my price range, leather biker boot.
4. Nine West - Suede and Faux fur.
5. Uggs - My favorite! Leather & their classic sheepskin lining the inside.

Carpe Diem.

I woke up this morning at 5 am to go to the gym.

I smiled.

Normally, no one is smiling at 5 am, but today I did.

My boyfriend gives me a wake up call and says "Carpe Diem!".

He then proceeds to ask me, "Do you know what that means?".

Um, yes, I'm 26, if I don't, than we have issues.

So I say the meaning out loud, "SEIZE THE DAY!"

I walked that smile right out the door and into the gym! 

I workout!!

I've been thinking about all the things that I can change in my life to make it better.

Bride Wars.

Today I recorded a few "Valentines movies", more like movies that are based on Love and Weddings.

One of the movies on the list is Bride Wars.

Which is one of my favorite movies.

Especially, that little Tiffany's box that Kate Hudson's character receives. *one day*

I've been thinking a lot about weddings, probably because I have watched "The Wedding Planner" one too many times. I have been planning my fictitious wedding for about a month.

The Day of Love.

It's that time of the year again. 

The dreaded day if you're single, but if you have a love, then you expect something pink, red, or both.

Valentines Day.

In grade school, we always got excited by the fact that when we sat at our desk, there would be some kind of treat with a note from your classmates.

Now, it's merely just a way for Hallmark & other companies to make an extra buck.

I personally don't mind either way if there are roses, chocolates, or a piece of fine jewelry waiting for me on February, 14th. 

I think we should celebrate LOVE everyday.

I did, however, find myself going to a website that seemed to be dedicated to V-day.
